Ecological Standards in the Real Estate Market of Russia in the Context of the Digital Economy

Abstract

The article dwells upon the way digitalization influences the implementation of green building standards in the world economy and in Russia. The study is aimed at examining the world practice of ecological standardization and the most successful Russian cases and establishing the importance of green standards for achieving the goals of sustainable development. Based on a mixed method approach, the article draws attention to the most popular standards in Russia and their strengths (ecological comfort, higher level of business transparency, etc.) and weaknesses (first of all, high costs) for further market development. The article also describes some successful Russian business cases in this sphere, such as the Production and Warehouse Complex of Wilo, a German company, in Noginsk, Zheleznogorsk with its smart city technologies. The results of this study prove that there is a good perspective for the development of ecological building standards in the Russian economy both at the micro-level and at the macro-level.
