A Prey–Predator Model with Pathogen Infection on Predator Population

Abstract

Infectious haematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV) is an infectious pathogen of salmon fish and this pathogen is highly contagious among juvenile salmonid species. The disease has pervaded to continental Europe and Asia via the gathering of infected fish and eggs, i.e. the disease may have both direct and indirect effects on salmon fish. They enter the host through the skin at the base of the fins or via the eggs. Based on this infection transmission, we split out the salmon fish population into two groups. We perform existence condition and boundedness of the system. We find out many equilibrium points and check out the stability of the equilibrium points with various conditions. Hopf bifurcation and two-parameter bifurcation have been done by considering many parameters as a bifurcation parameter. Lastly some numerical simulations have been conducted to illustrate our analytical results.
