Abstract

The Analyze phase focuses on analyzing data collected in the previous phase, making data-driven decisions for the next phase of Six Sigma, discovering quality problems and issues, and identifying root causes of defects and the points where the wastes occur in the process. Discovering the causes of variability is pivotal to identify root causes and take preventive or corrective actions in the phases of Six Sigma projects. The Analyze phase uses a great variety of statistical tools and techniques in DMAIC process. These tools and techniques are detailed in this chapter.
