Abstract

In this chapter, the key success factors for effective OD in practice are explored in detail. Indeed, OD as a field and practice have evolved. Simultaneously, the practice of OD has been characterized by some degree of success, but many failures as well. In such a context, it becomes important to maximize the benefits of OD and increase the probability of success. This chapter also outlines as checklists the key success factors to be considered when examining various aspects of OD practice: planning, developing and implementing, and evaluating/institutionalizing organizational-level changes. This chapter therefore provides a toolkit that can be used by OD practitioners for an overall view of key success factors that relate to organizational change management.
