Abstract

Socialism is a utopia in the strict sense of the word: a vision of society that currently does not exist anywhere. However, it is not a figment of someone’s imagination (like the classic ‘utopias’); it is the result of the struggles of social movements and political parties over the last two centuries, at least. In this sense, it is a utopia under construction, a unifying target of countless struggles for liberation or emancipation.
