Abstract

Producibility is the process by which value is created and captured by the network and industry infrastructure. It is a total design activity that includes all relevant activities within the value chain network and creates intra- and inter-organizational partnerships to achieve stakeholder satisfaction. It becomes the network organizations’ strategic and operational infrastructure and a process. It is a “total management activity,” whereby the product-service-design process is integrated with the design of manufacturing processes and with the structuring of the subsequent operational processes of physical distribution, service support management, and product hardware recovery for remanufacturing/recommissioning while meeting customer specified expectations and stakeholder performance requirements. However, the dynamism accompanying Industrié 4.0, Value Chain Network 2.0, and the reinforcement of a stakeholder value management focus has brought about significant changes.
