Abstract

I’ll hazard a guess that, at the outset, two issues will dominate your thinking about the project. ‘What shall I choose as a topic?’ and ‘What sort of standards are involved?’ Common sense will suggest that both must be resolved for the project to be successful, and that the sooner this is done, the better. The purpose of this chapter is to help you deal with it expeditiously and as effectively as possible. The second issue is more problematic, and it’s my suspicion that weak projects are often unsuccessful because the issue of standards was scarcely considered, and insufficient help given, a theme which merits a separate chapter, Chapter 4, to itself.
