Abstract

(Author’s note: The reader will notice that most of the material in Chapter 12 has also appeared in Chapter 2. This is intentional, to ensure that users of this text in academic or training settings can assign this chapter as standalone reading where necessary.) The most successful implementations of agile are often when a small group of practitioners just decide to go for it. Whether they have used it elsewhere and want to bring it to their new organization, have heard about it and want to try, whatever – the grassroots interest and enthusiasm of a group of people who think they can improve their ways of working cannot be matched as a foundation for success. That’s how it was for us at Promega when the.NEXT team decided to try FDD and then extended our use of agile as we learned more.
