Abstract

The Analytics solutions at ABC Inc. are not in the same league with Analytical Solutions used by the competition of ABC Inc.: for example, the Use of a Mobile device, Use of Machine Learning, or Predictive algorithms in Analytical applications. Further, the solutions are not even meeting operational expectations, let alone enabling a competitive edge from the vast pool of information. Most of the Advanced Analytics applications are a black box to most of the business users and even the IT team, as only data scientists and a few experts understand them who are engaged on an ad hoc basis, making these solutions difficult to be used and remain accessible to limited people with advanced technical knowledge. One of the other occupying challenges for ABC Inc. is slow database performance leading to a number of internal challenges, including business intelligence security issues, fragmented processes, poor interdepartmental communication, and severe reporting lags. ABC Inc. is keen that their IT costs are part of the ongoing operational expenses by paying a subscription cost rather than one massive, big capital expense that requires approval of multiple stakeholders, including board members. There are many additional challenges that ABC Inc. deals with: for instance, Business Planning is done in MS Excel, and its iteration takes a huge toll on people involved due to a lack of collaboration.
