Abstract

Over the past several decades, financial pressures and intense business competition have made business organizations and their IT departments rethink operational, employee, and financial resources by outsourcing part or all of their business processes to third-party SPOs. The percentage of outsourcing started small a few decades ago and has grown to more than 80% of all IT work being outsourced to SPOs. The more an organization outsources its IT work, the greater the management overhead of managing the SPOs (also called vendors). This arrangement can become complicated as an organization engages increasing numbers of SPOs for its IT business.
