Production Networks

Abstract

Production networks belong to a general class of systems known as queueing networks where commodities move through finite-capacity buffers and compete for resources in front of multiserver nodes or workstations. A particular class of such systems is that of Markovian queueing networks, in which the time that a commodity binds a resource has an exponential or geometric distribution.
