Two-way type I analysis of variance with interaction

Abstract

The topic of this chapter will once again be type I analysis of variance, in which the populations under comparison are chosen systematically, and where the population means and the differences between them are of major interest. In the case considered here, however, observations can be cross-classified with respect to two classification criteria instead of only one criterion as in the one-way analyses of variance treated in chapters 12, 26 and 27. In order to make the situation as concrete as possible, biological examples will now be given without further delay.
