Further Approximation to the Distributions of Some Transformations to the Sample Correlation Coefficient

Abstract

In this article the first eleven moments of r, are derived. They are used to examine the distributions of some of the familiar transformations of r under normal assumptions. Tables provided compare μ2 skewness (β1), and kurtosis (β2) with μ 2 * , β 1 * and β 2 * studied by Subrahmaniam and Gajjar (1980). These results provide further evidence of the usefulness of this work.
