Abstract

The properties of one-dimensional materials in solution have received relatively little attention. This is not particularly surprising since dissolving these highly polymerized materials breaks up the one-dimensional chains into much smaller units. In the process the unique properties of the long chains are lost, and the segments or pieces that remain become disordered.
