Abstract

The reduction of differential equations to algebraic equations developed by Moran and Gaggioli1, represents yet another application of the group theory. The method was developed based on the notion of Birkhoff2, that whenever a system of equations transform invariantly under a group of transformations, solutions that are sought are also invariant under the same group.
