Abstract

The stability theory of input-output linear systems has developed largely over the last forty years. Recently, the theory has begun to take on a sophisticated functional analytic flavor. It has been recognized that many well-known stability definitions and results may be expressed conveniently in terms of linear mappings between normal vector spaces of input and output functions. In what follows, we shall endeavor to follow a rudimentary version of this functional analytic approach to input-output stability theory.
