Parallel Bootstrap and Inference for Means

Abstract

This article discusses the parallel implementation of the bootstrap algorithms on an iPSC/2 hypercube computer. The speec_up of the parallel computations is illustrated with the data generated from terminating simulation and regenerative simulation of a queueing system. It is found that the savings in execution time is most significant in computation intensive cases. Of course this is precisely where parallel processing will be most desired.
