Abstract

We want to focus attention on several related problems concerning deviation from the uniform distribution, arising in diophantine approximations, that are important for computer applications. These problems arise from the need to digitalize real-world data. In many such discretization problems diophantine approximation issues arise, especially when continuous data are described by quasiperiodic processes.
