Length and Center of Mass of a Curve

Abstract

Some basic formulas for calculating the length and center of mass of a curve in the plane and in space are given in Section 11.1. In programs presented in Section 11.2, we find characteristics for a regularly inscribed polygon (i.e., a polygonal approximation to the curve) and compare them with the results obtained by integrating velocity along the curve.
