Prediction Regions

Abstract

The tables referring to exclusion and comparison procedures consist of prediction regions for hypotheses containing one element. They can be found on the CD-ROM. Similar to the case of the measurement procedure, each entry, i.e., each prediction region, is based on the sum of sample elements Xs and therefore is represented by a connected subset of {0,1,…, n}, where n is the sample size. Thus the prediction regions are completely specified by their smallest and largest element, denoted by $$ \frac{{{\partial^3}}}{{\partial {x^3}}}u\left( {x,t} \right) + {\left( {\frac{\partial }{{\partial t}}u\left( {x,t} \right)} \right)^2} = \frac{{{\partial^2}}}{{\partial {x^2}}}u\left( {x,t} \right)foru\left( {x,t} \right) $$
