Abstract

The statements of the corollaries of the Bauer-Fike theorem are “nonsymmetric” with respect to A and A + F: the matrix A + F, in contrast to A, can be nondiagonalizable or have different orders of Jordan blocks. We might be interested in “symmetric” theorems, which estimate some distance between the spectra of matrices.
