Abstract

Conclusions The sustainability of the synergistic relationship is a function of the congruence between the individual and collective perceptions of the organisational self-concept. If the enactment of the synergistic relationship destabilises individual scripts to such an extent that the authenticity of either of the parent organisational identities is threatened, the coalition is unlikely to survive.
