Minisum Circle Problem with Unequal Norms

Abstract

In this chapter a generalization of the minisum hypersphere problem is considered. A norm k is used to measure distances between a hypersphere in a two-dimensional real Banach space and a set of fixed points. In contrast to the classical minisum hypersphere problem the norm k may differ from the underlying norm of the space. Properties of this generalization are discussed and compared with properties of the classical version of the problem. For polyhedral norms, a finite dominating set is identified which gives rise to a solution approach.
