Abstract

The chapter addresses the antecedents of suppliers’ (mis)conduct along with the role and function of the buyers’ code of conduct in global supply chains. The chapter also presents the main characteristics of multi-stakeholder collaborative initiatives developed to respond to multiple stimuli coming from customers and society. Specific attention is dedicated to the difficulties experienced by MNCs in monitoring supplier’s compliance in complex environments.
