Abstract

The recognition of environmental issues as critical success factors able to trigger new competitive dynamics and to increase firm performance has swept away the traditional views about competitiveness, survival and profitability. Despite the advances in CSR research, however, there is a lack of integration across literature streams pertaining the study of environmental strategies. To support business management in the current environmental challenges, the book develops a comprehensive framework that aims to support the effective implementation of environmental strategy, highlighting tools and model to translate strategy into action and encouraging a systematic monitoring of the achieved results through appropriate control system. By examining issues ranging from theory to practical application in environmental sustainability, the book contributes to the field of corporate social responsibility, accounting and strategic management studies highlight opportunities, criticalities and the future perspectives in the emerging and consolidated studies of corporate environmental strategies; also it suggests implications for practitioners to support an evolution of sustainable business practices considering simultaneously the accountability to a wide range of firm’s internal and external actors.
