Abstract

Water shortages and water pollution in China is a serious situation that still has not been fundamentally reversed. In order to improve water quality, many sewage plants has been constructed. However, sewage sludgy as the by-product of sewage treatment is ignored by Chinese government. The purpose of our research is to evaluate the environmental and economic impacts with a dynamic comprehensive optimization simulation model, and suggest an optimal policy can achieve the goal of environmentally sustainable economic development. Beijing is selected to make empirical research. The background, objectives, statement of the problem, and literature reviews are shown in this chapter.
