Encompassing BI: Education and Research Issues

Abstract

The current chapter rounds up the ideas presented in the book, stressing the encompassing nature of BI—coverage of informing activities on all important business dimensions, supported by an appropriate set of BI dimensions. The short review of the materials in book chapters clarifies the main axis of the book—the better understanding of human issues in BI leads to development of its encompassing nature. The chapter also considers the issues that weren’t given attention in the previous chapters—BI education and competency development, including importance of soft competencies, and research directions coming out of interplay between book chapters.
