Abstract

The last chapter of the book is devoted to a general discussion of the results of the study, their theoretical and practical implications, limitations of the research approach, an outlook on future research needs, and a summary of the study. The results of this research show the cultural sensitivity of scenario planning, with different degrees of the process steps and the tested cultural dimensions. These results provide support for the culture-bound theory but also call for further investigation of the cultural sensitivity of strategic management while also urging decision-makers in multinational corporations and other organizations for more cultural sensitivity in strategic management’s practice. In addition, in the practical implications sections, recommendations for conducting scenario planning processes in multinational organizations’ strategic management approach are provided. Future research could use the developed scale as a starting point for further investigation to validate the results of the underlying research. This study provides value to all organizations that have strategic management processes involving decision-makers with different cultural orientations, such as MNCs. The results suggest accounting for different cultural orientations in a global strategic management process to ensure efficiency and effectivity in the strategic management process.
