Abstract

The logistics service sector is subject to another consideration in terms of service performance and excellence: corporate social responsibility, or corporate conscience. This concept encourages employees to understand that they are serving the local community through their safety and social work as employees of Yamato, helping them channel their time and energy in a way that is critical for competitive advantage. This case examines the role of corporate social responsibility in contributing towards service performance and a culture of excellence in Yamato.
