Abstract

A value-oriented methodology is an appealing approach, particularly for traditional, managed organisations. Lean-Agile methods can be widely adopted. The spectrum ranges from a project within a specific department to a management method for a corporate structure. The introduction of new methods often creates uncertainty regarding which working methods should be implemented and the manner in which they should be executed. It is essential to consider all relevant factors to ensure that a new method is not introduced “by name only”. This means that the roles, activities, and processes of the old organisational structure are essentially just renamed, without any of the advantages of the new method being realised. In the following section, we will present tried-and-tested approaches that strike a balance between traditional organisation and an adaptive methodology. We will also highlight some common mistakes and misjudgements that we have encountered in our projects. Your situation is not necessarily exactly comparable to these, but they can still provide useful guidance.
