Abstract

The need for a new breed of agile: This review explores Agile methods’ need to transition to the next phase in their evolution so that they can overcome present challenges in Agile methods and so that product management and product development can efficiently interface with each other. The McDonaldization of the development team: This review explores the possible personal and corporate impacts of shaping the development team according to Scrum rules. Origins of the product manager vs product owner dilemma: This review presents the events and circumstances which elevated Agile/Scrum to its high level of popularity, provides an alternative critiquing viewpoint on the merit of Agile/Scrum practices, and explains and analyzes some of the impact Agile/Scrum had on software companies and on the product management domain and the product manager role.
