Abstract

Many scientists and engineers have a specific world view, a paradigm within which they approach all problems and which helps them to solve their puzzles. From time to time these paradigms change and lead research in new directions. Science and technology seem to be moving in revolutionary steps and long eras of small improvements. Both exert a huge influence on growth!
