Abstract

This article focuses on the role of business leaders in social innovation. What can business leaders do to actively participate in initiatives for a better world—doing good without losing their business focus? First, we look at the historical development of social innovation. The second section explores the role of business in social innovation. The subsequent sections provide practical advice on what responsibilities leaders can take on to demonstrate social innovation. How can they change the current company culture and how can they take some practical first steps in this new endeavour?
