Abstract

In this chapter, we continue with the next steps in the forecasting framework first introduced in Chap. 1 . We start with selection of model classes and move on to gathering, analyzing and preparing data. We then describe in detail the forecasting models, leveraging the out-of-the-box standard algorithms available in SAP IBP. We conclude this chapter by discussing “model fit” and how to validate models, understanding prediction intervals and refining the chosen model.
