Abstract

The use of information and communication technologies (ICT) has become an integral part of the modern education process; they have created a special educational environment, within which a new quality of interaction between students and teachers is developing. The article discusses the methodological problems of using ICT in language education, as well as presents and analyzes the practical experience of using information resources in teaching English at Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University (Russia). Empirical analysis is based on methodological developments in linguodidactic testing, as well as on a questionnaire survey. Thanks to training simulators, all kinds of control tasks, presentations, tests, etc. ICT become an effective means of the instructor’s control and self-control of students. The article shows the positive effect of using Internet resources in the educational process. It should be borne in mind that the negative results of digitalization of education are always associated either with the abuse of online forms of education, or with a low-quality information product, or else with its unskilled use. Therefore, with the development of ICT, the role of the teacher, the importance of his/her qualification and responsibility will only increase.
