Abstract

Behavioral and Neuroscience studies have been conducted to investigate Multi-Criteria Decision Making/Aiding (MCDM/A) methods in order to cover the gap observed in the literature in which few studies use neuroscience tools to investigate Decision Makers (DMs)’ behavior during the interaction with those methods. From these studies several insights have been generated to improve MCDM/A methods in general, using the concepts and methods of the Decision Neuroscience subarea, focusing on value-based decision making and its connection with preference modeling. Also, the FITradeoff method and its Decision Support System (DSS) has also been investigated. This chapter presents this kind of contribution and shows the main transformations made to the FITradeoff method and its DSS. These transformations occur in three ways: by making methodological transformations in FITradeoff, by developing features to improve the decision process, and by improving the Design of the DSS.
