Abstract

Out-of-home (OOH) advertising has been around for a very long time. Following BMedia (History of billboard advertising, 2019), Jared Bell was the first to create outdoor advertising, mostly in the form of murals. More about the general history of outdoor advertising can be found in Capitol (History of billboard advertising, 2022). An out-of-home advertising sign of a grocery store is shown in Fig. 14.1.
