Abstract

There are two mechanisms for promoting youth entrepreneurship in Africa as well. They are entrepreneurship education discussed in Chap. 3 and financial and non-financial support organizations for entrepreneurs. Equity and debt funding organizations via banks, non-banking financial institutions, venture capitals, angel investors, and crowd funders support youth entrepreneurs. In addition, non-financial business incubators, seed accelerators, pitch competitions, mentors, and so on support the youth entrepreneurs. Yet, youth entrepreneurs perform poorly. It indicates that what they are financially or non-financially supported is not what they as youth entrepreneurs require. Hence, this chapter elaborates diverse institutional voids that are created by fragile financial and non-financial support organizational system for youth entrepreneurs.
