Abstract

In the emerging economic scenario, start-ups are on rise. Investment in human capital is imperative to enhance performance and boost creativity among employees, and start-ups are not an exception. Different human resource management (HRM) practices help to enhance employee performance of and the growth of start-ups. Alignment of varied human resource management practices and policies is vital in the growth stage of start-ups. Implementation of appropriate HRM practices at the early stages can act as a catalyst for innovation and success. Good HRM practices are critical to encourage innovative behavior of the employees by leveraging their motivation and creativity. This chapter aims to highlight the role of different human resource practices and HR analytics in bolstering the performance and creativity of employees in start-ups. Among different HR practices, training and development, compensation management, performance appraisal, motivation, rewards, and learning culture are most significant.
