Abstract

Throughout the history of mankind, it has been shown time and again that everything that was technically possible and useful was eventually put into practice. This development extended over thousands of years from the invention of the wheel to the steam engine, the automobile, and the personal computer. Those peoples, and later companies, which successfully adopted these technologies have always gained enormous advantages. Today, we stand at a new threshold of technological evolution. This book with its depiction of the self-driving company seeks to produce an economic blueprint and a realistic vision of the future. All boring routines and processes come under the control of software, freeing up people for creative and empathetic activities. All functions in the company are networked in real time with each other and with their relevant environment. This self-driving company adapts to new requirements in a holistically automated way, learning continuously, never losing focus, never tiring, and knowing at all times the state of each and every organ of its agile organism. The technical basis for this already exists today. It is therefore a matter of obtaining a clear picture of the goal and a blueprint.
