Abstract

UK | Elisa Spampinato is the CEO and Founder of Traveller Storyteller. As a travel writer, she recognises herself as a Community Storyteller since she focuses primarily on the stories of indigenous and rural communities around the world. She designs and delivers workshops on Storytelling that are tailor-made for Community-Based Tourism (CBT) projects. A passionate and responsible tourism professional and a wholehearted and committed global Community-Based Tourism expert, Elisa is the CBT Ambassador for the Transformational Travel Council. For almost two decades, she has been a writer, speaker and researcher—in NGO and civil society initiatives, academic research, local development projects, international campaigns and advocacy for human and cultural rights, and ethical tourism. Elisa is particularly committed to raising awareness about gender equality and diversity in the travel industry. She is an Associate of Equality in Tourism and a Mentor for Women in Travel CIC.
