Abstract

Drug development is a laborious and increasingly costly process with an arguably minuscule success rate. Identifying the right target and designing an effective drug candidate are regarded as the most critical steps needed to increase the probability of success of any drug development program. The advent of large-scale genomics datasets and powerful AI algorithms is moving toward addressing these challenges at an unprecedented speed. This chapter will discuss and review recent examples of using AI and genomics to accelerate important aspects of early-stage phases in drug discovery.
