Abstract

Never in the history of humankind had people been asked to stay at home for several months and human movement been completely restricted. However, this actually occurred and it has now been 18 months since the WHO declared the coronavirus outbreak to be a pandemic in March last year. The pandemic not only affected human beings but also many organizations in different industries. Manufacturing, textiles, automotive, travel, and tourism industries were the worst hit while the pharmaceutical and health sectors have experienced a boom due to the pandemic. However, even they were unable to ramp up their production and create a supply chain to exploit these new opportunities. In this context, an international community of professionals attempted to understand and offer a model that would help organizations worldwide during such disruptive times. Considering the Three-Pillar Model, this chapter is an attempt to offer a model to help “traveling organizations” during these disruptive times. It is assumed by the author of the paper that traveling organizations need to maintain speed and, at the same time, not to miss the crucial part, i.e., learning to cope well with the challenges and keep moving in the direction of the goals defined.
