Abstract

This study examines the experiences and motivations of tourists visiting tourist villages in Indonesia using the orchestra model of experience (OME) and the travel career pattern (TCP) model. The OME model explores the emotional and sensory aspects of tourist experiences, while the TCP model focuses on tourist motivations. A quantitative approach was adopted, with data analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) and measurement models validated through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Using the Lemeshow formula, a sample size of 385 respondents was determined. The findings indicate that all five components of the OME model—sensory, affective, cognitive, behavioral, and relational—positively and significantly shape tourist experiences. Furthermore, the TCP model confirms that core, middle, and outer-layer motivations—including adventure, physical activity, and relaxation—encourage tourists to visit and revisit these destinations. The study highlights the interplay between service quality, culture, and natural beauty in shaping positive tourist impressions. These findings demonstrate that the OME and TCP models effectively measure and predict the experiences and motivations of tourists in Indonesian tourist villages.
