Abstract

In the recent years, consulting services for introduction and implementation of diversity management have widely developed in Germany as well as in other European countries. Many companies have recognised the potential of diversity management as well as the opportunities it offers them. With the perspective of the demographic development and continuously proceeding globalisation, it is expected that the topic of diversity and inclusion will remain an important concern for companies. Programmes for an efficient utilisation of diversity and an appreciative conduct concerning this resource will continue to influence how competitive and successful companies are. This article will reflect, based on personal experiences, on the role of both expert and process consulting with regard to diversity management strategies, in particular, on the meaning of diversity management in the German context, the role of diversity consultants, as well as the process of consultation.
