Abstract

A short term study abroad may be preferable to students who do not wish to go abroad for an extended period of time or not have the flexibility within their major for an entire semester abroad. In the summer 2015 I organized a short term study abroad trip to study renewable energy while traveling through Germany and Switzerland. The goal of the course was to provide students with an introduction to energy markets with a specific emphasis on renewable energy and applications to the German Renewable Energy Act. This paper details the process of developing the course and experiences while traveling abroad with a group of 10 students.
