Channels of Armenian Ethnic and National Identity Formation in Armenian Diaspora on the Don

Abstract

The chapter presents analysis of the role of the main language channels in formation of Armenian ethnic and national identity in Armenian Diaspora on the Don. The main channels of formation are education, the media, and family communication. Armenian ethnic and national identity is based on common spiritual values of Armenian ethnic nation, formed by Armenian language and implemented within these channels.
