Abstract

Company XYZ makes semiconductors and is a manufacturing business. The company makes many kinds of semiconductor parts, such as power chips, microcontrollers, and sensors. Company XYZ’s warehousing activities haven’t been done as well as they could be since there are still wastes that can make the everyday warehousing procedure less effective and efficient. This study aims to detect waste and offer recommendations for enhancements to minimize waste in the warehouse operations of Company XYZ. This study employs the Lean Warehousing methodology, which includes Value Stream Mapping, Process Activity Mapping, a Questionnaire, and a Fishbone Diagram. According to this study, there are five common types of waste that happen during the warehousing process. These are: goods placed on the floor of the warehousing rack (inventory 1) with a weight of 3.47; accumulation of goods in the warehouse (over production 1) with a weight of 3.47; discrepancy of goods in the warehouse (inventory 2) with a weight of 3.27; long loading time of goods (waiting time 6) with a weight of 3.20; and long distance of goods movement (transportation 2) with a weight of 2.93. The suggested waste can cut 15 activities from the previous 60 to 45 and cut activity time from 456.5 minutes to 155.5 minutes. The suggested changes also raise Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) from 29% to 54%, a 25% increase.
