Abstract

The provision of basic services, the implementation of development initiatives, and the maintenance of efficient community governance are all made possible by Local Government Units, or LGUs. Employee creativity and innovation in Local Government are consequently essential to maintaining effective operations and fulfilling public service standards. This study’s goal is to determine the personal and professional competencies on the staff productivity in Batangas City’s Local Government Units. Personality competencies are based on Realistic, Social, and Conventional variables using the RIASEC Framework. The study is conducted using the Goal Setting Theory framework, which includes Task Complexity, Commitment, and Challenge. The study’s respondents were one hundred seventy (170) employees of the Local Government Units. To ascertain the connection between personality and productivity and professional competencies, the researchers employed quantitative research, more precisely a descriptive correlational design. After expert review and approval, the survey’s reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha. The mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s R coefficient correlation were used to statistically analyze the gathered data in order to ascertain the relationship between the variables. The results show that the majority of respondents are very proficient in social, conventional, and realistic traits. Additionally, it is very clear how productive people are in relation to the complexity, challenge, and commitment of their tasks. The results also showed a strong correlation between employee productivity, professional development, and personality attributes. In order to improve Batangas City’s public service delivery, the researchers suggested a program that would foster ongoing professional development and improve personality attributes.
