Abstract
In recent years, extreme rainstorm disasters in China have occurred frequently. It is of great significance to explore the public’s risk perception of extreme rainstorm disasters for disaster prevention and mitigation. From the three dimensions of public perception heat, public perception theme and public perception emotion, this paper explores the temporal and spatial characteristics of the public’s risk perception of extreme rainstorm disaster in disaster areas and non disaster areas during the disaster warning period, disaster occurrence period and post disaster recovery period. The results show that: (1)In disaster areas, the public’s awareness of pre-disaster preparedness for rainstorm disaster is not strong. (2) In non disaster areas, the public’s alertness and attention to rainstorm disasters need to be improved. (3) The “23.7” heavy rain in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei has caused serious social impact, and the public’s negative emotions is obvious and has not been dispelled in the short term. Finally, targeted governance recommendations are proposed to provide reference for effective risk communication and management by government departments.
